At Bob Steele Salon, we believe that true beauty comes from confidence, expertise, and genuine care. That's why we're thrilled to introduce you to someone who embodies all three—award-winning makeup artist and beauty entrepreneur, Meredith Boyd.
When you sit in Meredith's chair, you're not just getting a makeup application. You're experiencing the artistry of someone who has spent over two decades perfecting her craft on national television sets, international pageant stages, and with some of the most recognizable faces in entertainment. But what truly sets her apart isn't just her technical skill—it's her deep understanding that beauty is about so much more than what meets the eye.
Meredith trusts our talented stylist Eryn at both our East Cobb and Buckhead locations to keep her looking her absolute best. When someone who works with beauty at the highest level chooses Bob Steele Salon, it speaks volumes about the artistry and care we provide.

A Legacy of Excellence
Meredith Boyd has built a career that speaks for itself. As a specialist in both natural and glam makeup looks for TV and print, she's worked with an impressive roster of top-tier productions including ABC, AMC, AT&T, CBS, Coca-Cola, Delta, ESPN, Hershey's, Golf Channel, Nickelodeon, Starz Network, and Orion. Her hands have transformed the faces of A-list celebrities and sports figures you know and love—Samuel L. Jackson, Jeff Foxworthy, Charles Barkley, Ron White, Freddie Freeman, Matt Ryan, Big Boi, Ludacris, Hannah Storm, and David Feherty, just to name a few.
As an official makeup artist for both the Miss America and Miss USA pageant systems, Meredith has had the privilege of beautifying thousands of state and national winners across the United States and internationally. She understands the pressure of high-stakes moments and the confidence that comes from knowing you look and feel your absolute best.
From Stage to Screen: A Journey of Passion
Meredith's own journey is as captivating as the looks she creates. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, she's no stranger to the spotlight herself. With 12 pageant titles to her name, including Mrs. Georgia United States 2003 and Mrs. Georgia International 2008 (placing in the top five at both national competitions), she understands firsthand what it means to step into your power and shine.
Her educational background is as diverse as her talents. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Georgia Southern University, she also studied acting, stage makeup, scene painting, and costume design. Her career path has included roles as an anchor and reporter for a local CNN affiliate, a public relations executive, and a signed professional model—all while mentoring alongside celebrity artists and photographers to cultivate the exceptional makeup artistry skills she's known for today.
Innovation Born from Purpose
In 1999, Meredith recognized a need in the industry and decided to fill it herself. She created Meredith Boyd Cosmetics, a color cosmetics line developed exclusively for print and television. Born from her desire to achieve flawless looks on camera for her clients, the line has evolved to empower everyday individuals with professional-quality products and techniques.
"My experience on set in television has enabled me to pursue my passion of empowering my clients with the tools and knowledge of loving how to use cosmetics and skin care for everyday beauty and all night glam,"
Meredith shares. She teaches seminars nationwide and at the collegiate level, sharing exciting and effortless ways to look and feel beautiful at any age.
The Moment That Changed Everything
Behind every successful artist is a defining moment that shapes their purpose. For Meredith, it came when she met a woman named Karen in her makeup chair on set.
"She told me she had never felt this beautiful in such a long time,"
Meredith recalls. She was incredibly humble and kind, and left with her shoulders and spirits held high.
Later, the producer revealed that Karen was Ted Bundy's first victim.
"A chilling bolt rushed through my spine as I realized the atrocities she had faced, and how she pressed on," Meredith reflects. "My life is forever changed having met her, knowing I have the unique opportunity to impact someone's life and help them feel like their best self."
This experience crystallized what Meredith had always known in her heart—that makeup artistry isn't just about technique or trends. It's about giving people the invaluable gift of confidence.
A Warrior's Spirit
What many don't see behind Meredith's radiant smile and successful career is her personal battle. Since the age of 15, she has lived with rheumatoid arthritis, undergoing surgeries, receiving injections, and fighting back against chronic pain every single day.
Rather than let this challenge define her, Meredith has channeled it into purpose. For the past 26 years, she has worked tirelessly with the Arthritis Foundation, emceeing numerous events and serving as a national spokesperson. She was named the Adult Honoree for the Atlanta Walk to Cure Arthritis and served as co-chair for the prestigious Crystal Ball. Her advocacy work earned her coverage on Arthritis Today magazine and the prestigious President's Daily Points of Light award from President George W. Bush for her commitment to serving the youth of America through volunteerism.
"I'm in pain every day, but I will never stop fighting for a cure,"
Meredith says with unwavering determination. Her resilience and advocacy have inspired countless others facing similar challenges.
Industry Recognition and Accolades
Meredith's talent and dedication have not gone unnoticed. She's been voted "Best Makeup Artist" by Global Beauty Awards, "Best of the Best Makeup Artist in the Nation" by TFTJ Online, and "Best Makeup Artist" by Pageant Planet. She was featured in Cobb Life Magazine as one of the "20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Business" and named one of the "50 Most Beautiful Atlantans" by Jezebel Magazine.
But perhaps the recognition she values most comes from her clients—those who leave her chair feeling transformed, confident, and ready to take on the world.
Life After 40: The Best Chapter Yet
Now 51, Meredith has embraced this stage of life with wisdom and enthusiasm.
"The saying 'Life begins at 40' is true," she reflects. "At this age, I have the wisdom and authority to really make a change. I am more confident in making decisions that are right for me and know that removing negative energy unapologetically is within my power. We have such little time on earth; I'm determined to spend my precious time wisely."
One of her greatest joys now is celebrating and uplifting fellow female entrepreneurs.
"I never dreamed I'd own my own business and have clients fly me around the world to work with them. Making people feel and look beautiful is a childhood dream come true," she shares. "Now established in my career, I feel called to lift up other women and I am incredibly humbled to help young makeup artists realize their potential."
The Dynamic Duo
Meredith's success story wouldn't be complete without mentioning her partnership with her husband, Matt Boyd, a notable professional fashion photographer. Together, they travel as the "dynamic duo" of pageantry, creating flawless looks for clients around the globe. Their combined expertise in makeup artistry and photography brings a unique perspective to beauty—one that understands how to create looks that translate beautifully both in person and on camera.
What Drives Her Every Day
When asked what inspires her to get up every morning, Meredith's answer is simple yet profound: the opportunity to make someone feel beautiful. Whether she's working with a celebrity on a major network production, preparing a pageant contestant for the stage, or teaching someone how to perfect their everyday makeup routine, her mission remains the same—to empower people with confidence.
"Beauty doesn't just run skin deep," Meredith believes. It's about helping people see their own worth, celebrate their unique features, and step into the world feeling like the best version of themselves.

At Bob Steele Salon, we share Meredith's philosophy that beauty is deeply personal and should always make you feel like yourself—only more confident. Meredith's journey reminds us that the best beauty professionals don't just transform appearances—they transform how people feel about themselves. They create moments of confidence that ripple out into every aspect of life.
