Meet Danielle Turner: 24 Years of Purpose, Passion & the Art of Making You Feel Like You

Bob Steele Salon | The OG Edits: Stylist Appreciation Month 2026 Feature
F AMay. 6, 2026

There are stylists who are good at their craft — and then there are stylists who are called to it. The kind who walk into a salon not because it was the plan, but because something deeper kept pulling them back. The kind whose clients don't just book appointments — they look forward to them. Danielle Turner is undeniably that kind of stylist. With 24 years at Bob Steele Salon's Atlanta location, a reputation built entirely on genuine care and exceptional skill, and a "Beauty Boss" title awarded by Best Self Atlanta, Danielle has built a career that is as much about people as it is about hair. And now, she's bringing that same warmth, expertise, and heart to our Alpharetta location — with an additional day beginning Thursday, May 21st, 2026. We sat down with Danielle to get to know the woman behind the chair, and what she shared reminded us exactly why we do what we do. 🤍

It Started With a Knack — and a Calling

Danielle's path to the salon chair wasn't a straight line — and honestly, that's what makes her story so relatable. Fresh out of high school, she enrolled in college to pursue Nursing. The goal made perfect sense: she had always been the kind of person who wanted to help people, to make things better, to leave someone feeling cared for. But somewhere along the way, she realized nursing wasn't quite the right vessel for that desire. What she hadn't yet recognized was that her true gift had been with her all along — in her hands, and in the way people always seemed to end up in front of her while she fixed their hair.

"I always had a knack for hair, even as a young child I was always fixing everyone's hair — so it was natural for me," she shares warmly. "When I was in college for Nursing, I realized that wasn't what I wanted to do — but I knew I wanted to help people."

That clarity led her straight to Bob Steele Salon, where she began as an intern. And in a move that speaks volumes about her dedication, she attended hair school simultaneously — learning the craft in the classroom while living it on the salon floor every single day. That dual path gave her something most stylists spend years trying to develop: a foundation that is equal parts technical excellence and real-world instinct. Over two decades later, that foundation hasn't just held — it has flourished into something truly remarkable.

The Secret Behind 24 Years of Passion

Twenty-four years is a long time in any industry. In the beauty world, where trends shift constantly and the demands of the chair can be physically and emotionally exhausting, maintaining genuine passion for that long is no small feat. So what has kept Danielle not just showing up, but showing up with enthusiasm, purpose, and joy?

The answer, for Danielle, is simple — and it's the same answer it has always been.

"The people. All of my clients," she says without hesitation. "I literally feel so blessed that I get to help people and make people feel good about themselves and they leave with a smile every time. Doing hair is just a way that I get to do what I feel purpose in."

Read that again. Doing hair is just a way. The purpose is deeper than the service. That distinction is everything — it's the difference between someone who styles hair and someone who transforms how you feel about yourself. Danielle has always understood that the chair is about far more than what happens to your strands. It's a space where people come to be seen, to be cared for, and to leave feeling like the best version of themselves. That's the experience she creates, every single appointment, without exception.

Her Specialty: Bringing You Back to Your Most Confident Self

When it comes to the services she loves most, Danielle has a signature specialty she talks about with a quiet but unmistakable pride: gray coverage. On the surface, it might not sound like the flashiest skill to claim. But listen to why she loves it, and everything clicks into place.

"I love to do gray coverage — which I know doesn't really sound exciting — but I love to bring people back to their natural, youthful self."

There is something quietly powerful in that statement. This isn't about following what's trending or showing off a technically complex technique. It's about restoration. It's about looking at a client and understanding what they've been missing, what version of themselves they want to reconnect with — and then making that happen. For so many people, seeing gray covered and a familiar color return is genuinely emotional. It's confidence walking back through the door. And Danielle delivers that experience with care every single time.

Her approach to consultation reflects that same depth of thinking. "I'm a problem solver," she says. "I immediately look at someone like 'What needs to be fixed?' — and I listen first, and then I say 'Well, what I see…' and they usually agree." That instinct to listen before advising is rarer than it should be in any service industry. Danielle doesn't come in with assumptions or a predetermined vision — she comes in with open eyes and open ears, ready to meet each client exactly where they are.

The Beauty Boss Standard: She Will Never Turn You Away

Being named a "Beauty Boss" by Best Self Atlanta is not a small recognition. It speaks to leadership, influence, and a standard of excellence that others in the industry look up to. For Danielle, the title resonates on both a personal and professional level. "That 'Boss' sounds like a leader," she reflects, "so people come to me both personally and professionally for help and advice if they need it."

But what truly defines her "Beauty Boss" standard isn't the award itself — it's the philosophy she operates by every single day behind the chair. She has watched countless talented stylists plateau, not because they can't do the work, but because they won't bend for their clients.

"I see people that can do hair but don't take it to the next level by bending for their clients a little bit," she says. "For example, if a client's booked for a partial foil but they need a double process balayage — some stylists will turn them away. I would never do that. I always want to make the client happy when they leave. I don't ever want someone to leave me feeling like they didn't get what they wanted."

That is the Bob Steele Salon difference — and Danielle embodies it completely. Because there is nothing worse than leaving a salon feeling like you compromised. Like you asked for something and were told no, or were made to feel like a burden. That experience doesn't just affect your hair — it affects how you feel about yourself for days. Danielle refuses to be the source of that feeling. Every single client who sits in her chair will leave having been heard, having been cared for, and having gotten exactly what they came for.

Staying Sharp, Staying Current

With 24 years of experience behind her, Danielle could easily coast on what she already knows. Instead, she approaches education with the same enthusiasm she brings to every client interaction. She follows trends on Instagram and TikTok, attends hair shows, and takes educational classes — not because she feels behind, but because she genuinely loves seeing what's new.

"I'm always following everything on Instagram and TikTok," she shares. "I'm drawn to beauty and fashion and it's always exciting to me to see all the new things that are changing." That curiosity is contagious. It's the kind of energy that keeps a stylist's work feeling fresh and alive — for both the client and the stylist themselves. When you sit in Danielle's chair, you're getting the best of both worlds: the wisdom that comes from two and a half decades of experience and the awareness of a professional who is always looking forward.

Now Coming to Alpharetta — and She Cannot Wait

Danielle is genuinely energized about expanding her presence to our Alpharetta location, and it shows. She sees the community as a natural fit for the work she loves most — and she is already excited about the new connections waiting to be made.

"The demographic seems to fit more of the type of hair that I do and it's a growing area that I feel like I could find a good niche there," she says. But beyond the professional fit, it's the people she's most excited about. Because for Danielle, a new location isn't just a new market — it's a new community to welcome into her world.

"I love to meet people and become friends — so that's one thing that's exciting about this job. I feel like I get to hang out with my friends and make them pretty all day. I'm excited to bring that and find new people to experience that with."

If you've been searching for a stylist who will truly see you — not just your hair, but your needs, your life, your vision — Danielle is that stylist. She doesn't need a long history with you to make you feel at home. From the first consultation to the moment you step out the door, her entire approach is designed to make you feel like you've known her for years.

The Woman Behind the Magic

For all her professional accomplishments, Danielle is refreshingly, beautifully grounded outside of work. She recharges by slowing down — sitting in quiet reflection, letting her mind breathe instead of staying constantly busy. She loves cooking, enjoys taking walks, and works out to maintain balance. "I definitely need to have downtime to recharge for sure," she shares. "I like to sit and reflect to let my brain think instead of keeping myself busy and distracted."

And perhaps the detail that surprises people most? She is a proud, devoted mom of three. A 21-year-old son, an 18-year-old son, and a 14-year-old daughter who lives at home with her. "Most people are very surprised that I have adult kids!" she laughs.

The same intentionality she brings to her clients — slowing down, truly listening, being fully present in the moment — she carries into her personal life, too. That balance is not incidental. It is part of what makes her so exceptional in the chair. A person who knows how to rest knows how to show up. And Danielle shows up, every single time, with herself.
