After trying different paths of life, Wes found his dream career!

Updated: Aug 26, 2022

Welcome, Wes! He’s one of our newest stylists on the floor at our Atlanta location! He loves all things vivid colors, shags, mullets, and extensions. Although he found his place in life at Bob Steele Salon, now, being a stylist wasn’t always clear.

Before becoming a stylist, Wes did various jobs, such as coaching rock climbing, bartending, working construction, managing a call center, and even project management! “I consistently found the most personal fulfillment in any role where I was working with my hands and connecting with people. One day the light bulb went off and I could see a clear vision of myself behind the chair,” said Wes.

After doing thorough research and interviewing several hairstylists within the field, Wes left his current position and enrolled in Cosmetology school at Toni & Guy!

When Wes began his search for the perfect salon to call home, he was thoroughly impressed by the education that provided him with opportunities to take his skill even further. Not to mention, Wes’s sister and mother both have been clients of Bob Steele Salon for years, so it was a no-brainer for him to choose our salon as his salon home! “The education, culture, and values of the Salon,” says Wes, sealed the deal to him joining our team.

“I’ve been blessed to work with dozens of incredible hairstylists that still teach and inspire me. Independent of them, one of the biggest for me has always been Henry Rollins. His most notable achievement being the lead singer of the punk band, Black Flag. Besides fronting one of the most iconic bands in music history, Henry is an incredible author, actor, stand-up comedian and worked in several other equally impressive professions. I recommend everyone should look him up and hear about his journey. I promise it will inspire! Despite all his success, he is incredibly humble, articulate, wise and hard-working. His wise yet intense demeanor and words have always resonated with me and push me to be better!”

One day he hopes to do hair for musicians and bands, attend hair shows, and demo in front of an audience. Currently, he is looking forward to filling his books and growing as a stylist, while making life-long connections with his clients!
