Life, Love, Hair -- 35 years of style at Bob Steele Salon
June 19, 2015
There’s a theme at Bob Steele Salon and it is not only to make clients’ hair look fantastic, but it’s also to ensure their clients feel great overall. “Our goal is to always continue making people feel good,” says senior stylist, Sara Kimberl. “It’s what we do as stylists. Being able to help people feel better about themselves, to make them feel more confident-it's such a good feeling, I wouldn't trade it for anything.”
"I think it's the fact that it's so much more than just hair problems we are fixing,” agrees senior stylist Cassie Gray. “It's an exciting job where you have an opportunity to make people feel great.” And Bob Steele Salon (BSS) has been doing that in and around Atlanta since 1979.
Each and every stylist and educator at the four Atlanta-area locations is constantly striving to uphold the same six core values for which the salon was founded – Caring, Community, Continuous Improvement, Having Fun, Award Winning, and Integrity. Those principles are what make Bob Steele Salon the wonderful business that it is.
Another founding principle of the salon is to support new stylists’ growth as they build and establish their career. There are ten tiers of stylists at BSS-the Verge Levels 1-3 and Elite Levels 1-7, with the highest level of stylists being the most experienced. The lower tiers of stylists are constantly being developed through the salon’s educator program where they are taught and mentored by the more experienced stylists.
All of the stylists at each level are always striving to do their best work and make the client look and feel their best. The tiered structure benefits the clients as well. “We offer such a wide variety of stylists and price points that there is certainly a stylist for everyone here,” says Nico Giarrano, the social media manager and a member of guest relations at the salon.
And unlike many salons throughout Atlanta, Bob Steele Salon utilizes several product lines for their clients. From Redken to Moroccan Oil to Keratase to Pureology, there is always something for everyone. “Each client’s hair is slightly different from the next,” says Gray. “It’s so important that we tailor each and every client’s color, style and products to what works for them.”
