Amanda Hair | Owner

Amanda's entrepreneurial spirit emerged at an early age. After working at The Limited during high school, she became a store manager before she could legally buy an adult beverage and found that taking charge came naturally. At The Limited, Amanda was able to combine her gift for communication and outgoing personality with her love of fashion and beauty. Eventually, she became manager of a District home store for bebe in Atlanta.

Amanda's first introduction to Bob Steele Salon was as a client in 1999. The salon immediately felt like home -- warm, friendly, and not at all snobby. Already rethinking the long hours required by retail, Amanda considered becoming a stylist herself. As it happened, the salon had an opening for personnel manager, and Amanda was hired.

She quickly became an integral part of the salon, and Bob Steele offered her the opportunity to become co-owner in 2004. As co-owner, Amanda's ambitious vision for the business continually come to fruition --  it expanded from one to three locations, and was named Salon Today's fastest growing salon from 2002 - 2007.  In 2009, Amanda purchased the remaining shares from Bob Steele and took over as CEO of the Bob Steele Salon Corporation. Amanda draws on the excellent organizational practices she learned early in her career, and strives to apply those high standards to the salon.

Amanda now enjoys being involved in all aspects of the business, from attending every new hire interview to lending a creative hand and directing the salon advertising. She has a deep admiration for the stylists and others she works with, and loves to see their careers grow. She has also strengthened ties to the community by hosting events in the salon and making charitable donations as well as create awareness for her favorite non-profit, CHRIS Kids.

A child of the Air Force, Amanda was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and lived in the Azores, Portugal and a suburb of St. Louis before settling in Atlanta.  She is a member of Vistage, a peer to peer membership organization for CEOs, and serves as Chair for The 2to10 Project by Qnity, a cooperative of elite multi-location salons and spas with between 2 and 10+ locations.  But most importantly, her favorite hobby is spending time with her husband Michael and Mia Rose.

Jennifer Barber | Area Manager - North

Coming to work is like coming to a second home for Jennifer.  The relationships that she has formed with her colleagues and stylists at her locations makes them feel more like family than co-workers.  Before joining the Bob Steele Salon team Jennifer worked in other managerial positions. She managed a popular restaurant in the Perimeter area, and was a sales rep for a hurricane screen company working with various government entities.  Jennifer also has experience in the marketing field, which she was working in before coming to Bob Steele Salon.  As a loyal client of the salon, Jennifer always enjoyed the salon atmosphere and the positive experiences she had with the company.  When she found out about the opening for the Town Center salon manager, she knew this was a perfect fit for her!  She joined the team in October 2010, and really enjoys working at the North Salon locations and interactingwith the clients.

In her time away from the salon she loves mommy time with her young son Emmitt, boating and fishing at Lake Lanier with her family, and playing with her dogs.

She one day wants to have a Brady Bunch style family with her husband, Paul and enjoy the simple things in life such as experimenting in the kitchen and preparing home-cooked meals for her family.
